Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
The Proceedings of the IAHN Tampung Penyang Palangka Raya National Seminar is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all necessary measures against any publication malpractices. All parties involved in the publishing process (Authors, Editors, and Reviewers) must agree on the following standards of ethical behavior:
1. Duties and Responsibilities of Authors
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. Any form of plagiarism (including self-plagiarism) is unethical and unacceptable.
- Multiple Publications: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal or proceeding concurrently.
- Acknowledgement of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given through accurate citations of all references used.
- Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study.
2. Duties and Responsibilities of Editors
- Fair Play: Editors evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
- Confidentiality: The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and the editorial board.
- Publication Decisions: The editors are responsible for deciding which of the manuscripts submitted to the proceedings should be published based on the work's validity and its importance to researchers and readers.
3. Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and may also assist the author in improving the paper through editorial communications.
- Confidentiality: Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
- Standards of Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
4. Plagiarism Policy and Sanctions
IAHN-TP Palangka Raya is committed to preserving the purity of scholarly work through the following policies:
- Similarity Check: Every manuscript will be checked for its similarity level using professional software (e.g., Turnitin or iThenticate). The maximum tolerated similarity rate is 20-25%.
- Detection of Misconduct: If evidence of plagiarism, data fabrication, or manipulation of results is found, the management reserves the right to reject the manuscript unilaterally.
- Sanctions: Authors proven to have committed serious ethical violations will be banned from publishing in any IAHN-TP platforms for a specified period and will be reported to the leadership of the author's home institution.
