Hindu literature contains teachings that are very important as a foundation in living life, one of which is the teaching of leadership. It is found in Hindu literature in the form of Parwa, namely Asramawasa Parwa which is a part of Asta Dasa Parwa. Asramawasa Parwa is the life story of Maharaja Drestarastra and Panca Pandavas after the Mahabharata war ended, which left sadness. In the Asramawasa Parwa text, a conversation between Maharaja Drestarastra and Maharaja Yudistira is told. Many of these conversations are implied by leadership teachings which can certainly be used as lessons for leaders in the present era, by learning from the past. The Asramawasa Parwa text suggests leaders must uphold attitudes including: Leaders are not grudging, leaders are based on religious literature, understand the obligations or Sesana, leaders must be neutral, always remember family and ancestors, and take decisions on joint deliberations.
